ABOUT STONEY-WOLF PRODUCTIONS
Stoney-Wolf Productions was founded in 1984 by Dale Burk of Stoney Dale Press and Ed Wolf. It was located in Missoula Montana The company got it start by producing the first elk hunting video program” Hunting the Rocky Mountain West”. This first production was successful for the company and so they continued to produce several more. This included other elk hunting programs and soon other hunting video’s followed. During this time Ed and Dale moved onto other ventures and sold the company to new partners.
Over the next ten years the company continued producing high quality video programs for the outdoor enthusiast. During this time frame the company had actually produced over 70 outdoor video programs. These programs were mainly sold into the video rental stores.
In May of 1997 the company was sold to new partners, Tony and Patrick Kirsch and David Franey. At this same time the company was relocated to Chaska Minnesota. One of the former partners retired and the other two remained in the industry. With this acquisition the company started in a new direction. The backgrounds of the new partners were in the wholesale to retail business. Soon the company started focusing on the sporting goods wholesale selling to the retail business. This would become the new direction for the company.
